Okay, Marie's is an Eastern Comma. I don't get them down here, but I have studied them in KY and WV. Question Marks are larger and have longer "tails". I also think they have slightly more scalloped wings. I notice I see them more in the fall. Both are attracted more to sap, animal dung, rotting fruit, etc, than flowers.

Mika - Rolling on the floor laughing I understand your confusion. The names come from markings on the underside of the wings that resemble the punctuation marks.

What Brit doesn't want to be a Monarch? Hmm...the ones who got on the Mayflower! I'm related to two of them. I did Ancestry DNA and I'm 91% British. FYI, the average British citizen is only 60% British. So I'm like, super British!

I'll look into Mika's butterfly when I get a minute.
