To create new varieties seed parents which produce monoembryonic seeds are used. The single embryo having the gene's of both parents.
Generally, varieties of Mango with polyembryonic seeds produce multiple shoots which are genetically identical clones of the mother plant. Usually one shoot, from the fertilized embryo, has the genes of both parents.
