Here is what makes my gate swing.
I am new to lilies over wintering in pots in my garage.
I just used to plant them when they were delivered and hope for the best.
Last fall there was a good sale so I bought 5 each of2 varieties
Linda
Acapulco
It was too late to put thm in the ground so A DG'er trouble maker said"pot them and put them in boxes with crushed newspaper and place them against the common wall with the house."

We have had a terrible winter, temps to 9* and not higher than 18* at times.
I was worried.
Today theDG enabler tempted me to go dig one to see if there were any roots. What one bulb when I have 10. So I did and VOILA
There is new growth on the roots and a small thin shoot comming out of the top.
The bulbs are solid and dryish, not dampor wet.
Its a good day.
