Hi Aileen! Love your name! Gray is right that each type of peony has its own merits. Regarding itohs, just want to say that they grow fast and and wide. You need lot of space to show/display them well. They also do not like root competition from trees or shade. The number of blooms will diminish if they are planted in such locations. Most itohs have very beautiful foliage and look nice even without blooms. You should try to grow a few just for the diversity of blooms and foliage.
