This was a new plant last year which was bought as a double fan but had more. It had two scapes that bloomed. It increased very well. Currently it is showing seven scapes and the large container is looking pretty full. The foliage this spring has had problems. I think the cause is probably insects because aphids and maybe thrips or some tiny insect in addition to aphids have been bad. It may be leaf streak. Whatever the cause, the fan growth just wasn't normal. Several daylilies had the same sort of growth but 'Judge Roy Bean' had the worst case of it and has been the slowest to shake it off. I wasn't expecting all the scapes because the growth wasn't good for so long. It gets good marks for all the increase and tripling the number of scapes in just a year. I think the insect problem is an outside factor. It just makes it harder to evaluate a plant. Right now it is finally looking good, so by the time the scapes start blooming the fans should be looking okay.
