I woke up at 5:30 a.m. this morning to the sound of high-pitched trilling and the patter of tiny feet on the deck. I rushed to the window and was just in time to see two tiny kits clamber down the deck steps and run to their mother, who hid them in the tall weeds at the edge of the pond. I think the mother is Number 3.

Interestingly, the facial markings on the raccoons I'm seeing are quite different from the ones that @gardengus posted pics of. Cinda's raccoons have proper "masks", but mine have separate eye patches that don't join up on the nose, which makes them look as if they are wearing shades. I wonder if this is a regional variation?
