well I own 2 poodles, and I almost don't think of them as dogs. They are poodles
I don't think of Rose of Sharon as a hibiscus, to me they are a large woody shrub and the hibiscus is a 'plant'. They hardy hibiscus here grows from the ground up each year and all last years growth dies.
So to me it is a plant. I detest Rose of Sharon and even though many people call them a hibiscus, to me they just aren't.
But then to me a tomato will always be a vegetable
PS My Romeo would be furious if you called him a dog! But "other" poodles are of course dogs, and if I touch any other dog, he lets me know it makes his little heart feel hurting inside
