Oh I'm so silly, I hadn't noticed where you reside! The land owners of the farm I live on are an elderly couple, and she's originally from Germany. When she's adding numbers and counting to herself, under her breath, she does so in German. I mentioned that to her and she said she was completely unaware she was doing it. She's been living in an English speaking country for many years, I've meant to ask her if she finds herself thinking in German as often as English.
