The best time to move plants is when they have gone dormant, either in autumn or early spring before they start in growth. Avoid frosty spells. If you have very warm spring weather, and I think you might have in Texas, autumn would be the best time.

Make sure the soil is not dry and water to help it establish if it is, but always water when first transplanted. Make a hole big enough to accommodate all the roots.
