GrammaChar thank you for the extraordinary photos of the Monarchs on mistflower. Really have to get me some of that stuff. Reminds me of ageratum. I love your little duskywing too.

Leslieray you're exactly right. That is a beauty! What I especially love about them is the way those long, soft looking hairs come from the side & overlay the body. I always want to pet it. it looks like it would be so soft & fuzzy.

Melaine had a nice variety today. The ZLW on the porterweed photos are really nice. I'm jealous of your long tailed skipper. Do you know I haven't seen a single one yet this year???? Blinking Usually they are as common as fleas. I'm getting worried. We have plenty of butterflies though. They are loving my wildflower fields. Saw my first Tiger Swallowtail of the year today. They seem to float like leaves. I've been seeing Zebra Swallowtails but they haven't slowed down long enough for a photo op. Plenty of Gulf Frits around. I got 3 Asclepias tuberosa last fall - lost 1 over the winter - 1 is starting to bud up. I check them every day for Monarch eggs - so far no luck.

I know you're going to have a fabulous time tomorrow Melanie! Can't wait to see photos.
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown
