Thirty years old could mean a garden variety which doesn't set seeds easily. I think the problem could be that you are not pollinating them. Insects don't pollinate hibiscus and, if that happens, it would be just by accident.
You need to do manual pollination and wait, and wait. There's no trick but the first 20 o 30 times you try to pollinate you will fail. After that time, doing the same, you will start to have success. Nevertheless, garden varieties are dominant so, even having seeds from them, their offsprings will be likely the same as pod parent.

Por como lo cuentas no creo que estés polinizando las flores sino esperando que se polinicen por sí solas, algo que no va a ocurrir pues los insectos no son polinizadores de hibiscos y, si en un momento dado lo hacen, será por accidente.
Necesitas polinizar manualmente una flor, llevando el polen de otra flor al estigma de ésta. El éxito viene con la experiencia y ésta simplemente es intentarlo muchas veces. Después de 10, 20, 30 veces empezarás a tener resultados. Ahora bien, las variedades de jardín son dominantes, lo que quiere decir que su descendencia va a ser prácticamente idéntica a ella. No esperes colores espectaculares.
