Hi, my name is Cindy. I first started out on Dave's Garden in 2002 before coming here. My main hobby is daylilies. I have been growing and hybridizing daylilies for over 20 years. In 2014 I happened to check on the iris forum here and that started a craze for irises. I now have 33. Before all the gardening began, many, many years ago, I worked as a secretary for a major Detroit newspaper. After getting married and having 2 daughters the gardening craze began. It first started as a veggie garden but gradually the veggies gave way to daylilies and now the daylilies are giving way to the irises. My hobbies are crocheting, bird watching, fishing and collecting jewelry and gemstones. Going to gem shows is my favorite thing to do. A year and a half ago I lost my l9 year old cat and have not had the desire to replace him with another pet as of yet. Next year, if all goes well, we plan on moving north to a small cottage on a lake my husband inherited. We will need to downsize quite a bit but I will continue to grow daylilies and iris, only I will then have deer to contend with. It will be nice to get out of city living and wake up to the birds singing.
