Hm, there are quite a few types of lettuce available that have pretty red leaves like that. Two that I have grown were Red Sails and Lolla Rossa.

The type of lettuce is known as curly or loose leaf. You can harvest it by just picking leaves off and keep the plants going for quite a while, although as the weather gets hotter, it will get bitter tasting.
