As a rule, Satsumas are a popular choice for gardens because they are pretty much thorn free, with only the occasional one showing up.

Do you know what satsuma variety seeds you planted? Most satsumas will only have fewer than 6 seeds as they are considered seedless. Many will not come true from seed.
