zuzu, I have over 70 roses in pots and they are doing well though surely not as well as the one's in ground. As you said, shifting potted roses in shade / cooler locations is the only advantage of growing roses in pots. I don't prefer growing roses in pots but all spaces in ground are already filled with roses so any further addition can only be in a pot.
Fragrant Charm (Royal William) is nice HT but not very prolific in my hot weather. In Islamabad climate, own root roses do the best followed by those grafted on Rosa centifolia root stock. Dr Huey and Multiflora root stocks do not do that well in my climate and unfortunately, my Royal William is on a multiflora root stock. William Morris is very vigorous on own roots in my climate.
Tom Brown has a unique shade and in cool weather, very nice fragrance too. The bush is so compact.... love this rose.
best regards
