I have a couple of brugs that didn't bloom for years. I just kept waiting for them to decide to bloom. All the rain we had lately helped wake them up. (One wasn't worth the wait!). So, fall isn't that far off.
Reminds me, I have a huge brug in a big pot. The leaves are really big and tend to cover/shade the other plants in the pot. I cut some of them in half to get a little light into the pot. Didn't affect the brug at all. It has buds on it now. Maybe you could trim a few of the big leaves on your brugs in half.
