@ShadyGreenThumb You will enjoy the brugs, and you will hate them. It just depends on how cool the fall weather is, and how many spider mites the hot summer winds bring. ....And yes, you'll need that "Y."
Edited to add: I just enlarged the photo of your brug leaves. Those at the top are definitely sub equal, so yes, you will get more blooms on those branches. That said, you will only see blooms on the ends of the branches that develop from a Y somewhere down on the main stem.
