The ones I've grown all have shown the sap too. I have no clue why it's there, but it doesn't seem harmful.
You're lucky in that it looks like most of your flowers will bloom at the same time. Mine is blooming one at a time in the greenhouse. I only have 2 flowers open right now, and the first one open has faded to a lighter pink.
