Friday morning I got up and went outside to sit on the patio and drink my tea. The deer and groundhogs do not usually eat my hostas until Sept so I usually have a very pretty view. Well not that morning. The deer had visited early. I came inside feeling low and started out to the front. In the front shade garden was this little doe.

No mommy in site. I asked "Where is your Mamma?" I know this doe did not eat my hostas down to sticks.

The next day the doe was still there and no mama in site. I started to try to decided what to do. I am torn. I cannot let a baby lie there and die looking at me with those sad doe eyes. But.......I feed it and it grows up and eat my plants. I went on the net did a search they say the deer will leave their doe in a safe place for 12 to 24 hrs and will return. If the doe has wet noes and clear eyes leave them alone. So the doe looked good and I left it alone.

24 hours later the mamma did return pushed the baby and the doe stood up and they left. I am so glad I did not have to intervene into nature. Hurray!
