Holy cow Jim!

I'm attempting to go all seeds this year and I clearly need to up my seedling game. Next year will be grow lights and a much better set up. I got such spindly little things that hardening them off has been taking forever! We'll see if I get anything before winter sets in.

I started a 2nd year asparagus last year in the fall and it came back really well this spring and then we got a very late freeze and it froze the spears. I didn't know that you are supposed to cut down any frozen spears to avoid the plant going dormant again so it went weeks before any new growth. Then when it finally sent up a sprout head, a bunch of birds mistook it for food and pecked it out of the ground. Now I have a net over the garden. That poor asparagus! I hope it can recover.
