Welcome to Garden.org, @Okanaganbell !

I am also a wisteria novice... I bought a "Blue Moon" wisteria 2 years ago, wintered it over in my garden the first year, then last year in a pot inside an unheated hoophouse.... now I am in the process of putting up an arbor to grow it on. Do you know what variety you have? If the one you have doesn't turn out to be hardy, Blue Moon certainly should be; supposedly it is hardy down to USDA zone 3! (I was quite surprised to learn that wisteria are native to Michigan Blinking ) I think they do grow quite large, so I'm not sure how practical it would be to try to keep it in a container -- I did see one on Pinterest that was grown as a bonsai, though.

If you don't get any further info here, you might want to visit the "vines and climbers" forum ( http://garden.org/forums/view/... ).

I hope both of our plants will do well! Smiling
