This is a discussion I had with Chuck Chapman on FB, about how tedious it was to separate the iris foliage from the other weeds and put all the iris foliage in the dumpster. He said he just composted everything, because the germs were already in the soil, and it was other factors that led to the rot. So all of my iris vegetative matter goes in a far off pile, except for the actual parts with rot. This I put in a small plastic grocery sack that goes to the dumpster.
