But when a plastic pot gets brittle it's time to send it to the landfill. Do you own one of those duct tape wallets?

I hadn't thought of patching it that way, it's a nylon fabric. But now I AM thinking!

For me, "looking nice" is something that happens by coincidence when some contraption doesn't look ratty or junk-inspired. The plants look good to me when they're healthy - that's enough.

But you can tape the inner pot on its outside (to keep the glue-tape out of the potting mix), and tape the outer pot on its inside (so it looks nicer, I guess). After they are nested, it doesn't look much worse than old old, beat-up, cracked pot.

I hate to throw things away, so I ask myself "HOW brittle?" before I toss it. Even then, I'm more likely to just move it to the bottom of the spare stack of pots, "to be used last".

Any reasonable person would be quicker than I am to throw something old away.
