Garden Sages I was one of the first 300 contributors to the plant database! Plant Identifier Million Pollinator Garden Challenge
Lilium rosthornii (thanks, Ramona!). Last year it did not bloom, and these are its first flowers. As buds developed, I was skeptical about the ID. As you can see in the pic, younger buds are white before they turn orange and then open. (The white bud is larger only because it is nearer to the camera lens.) I am really liking these changing color characteristics on flowers.

Notice also the fading to almost white at the edge on the tepals. I hope it is a enduring characteristic, and not just from the heat.

The fibriate projections, when not crowded as a "carpet" on the tepals, are quite pleasing, IMO.
