I have a vine that I don't recognize. It's growing up an oak tree amidst other vines like Virginia Creeper, Poison Ivy and Pothos (I've yanked out the Va. Creeper and Poison Ivy) and I can't figure out what it is. We have so many different types of vines on the property including those listed above as well as Saw Greenbriar (Smilax bona-nox ) and Mikania scandens but this one I'm drawing a blank with. I'm wondering if it might even be another variety of Smilax? I thought it could possibly be White Vine (Sarcostemma clausum) which is a Florida native. The habit reminds me of one of the photos at this site: http://florida.plantatlas.usf.... I haven't seen any sign of blooms but we've only been in the house a little over a month. Leaves and stems have white milky sap when broken. Does it look familiar to anyone?
