I'm in northern AZ about an hour from Las Vegas. Our main gardening consists of the main bed, a few fruit trees, grapes, various cacti, and flower beds. If you're looking for flowers, definitely go with lantana. They bloom 9 -10 months of the year and can tolerate the summer months.
Whereabouts are you in Vegas? What are your goals in the plant world?
