I had to look up the meaning of airing cupboard! That was a new one! I've got one of sorts, but it only has room for the water heater, and it isn't easily accessed. But, I've got other warm spots out of direct sun for rooting. I wouldn't have put it in the window to root anyway, because it can get too hot there. I just meant that I could keep it there over winter, if it does root. I can always pull the shade down if the sun is too hot, but that usually isn't a problem here during winter.
