One fence is a northern exposure, the other faces south but is under a large tree so it doesn't get much sun at all.
I would love to have them both covered year round, and if possible have some flowers in the summer. I also would like to keep the plants undamaged when the fences are repaired or replaced.
I live in Northern, CA - the area gets some low 90s days in the summer but cools down to 50s in the evenings. May have some winter days with night temperatures in the low 20s or high 20s.
Water conservation is important...
