Ficus bengalensis has large aerial roots. This tree does not have aerial roots.
There are five varieties of Ficus endemic to Maldives. They have been identified in 1901 by Willis and Gardiner (Willis, J. C and Gardiner, J. S , 1901. The botany of the Maldive Islands). These varieties have names in Maldivian language too.
