hand pull almost daily through summer Thumbs down landscape fabric works to suppress weeds but if you plain on dividing the plants once older it can get in the way. Also cheep landscape fabric is a waste of money only get woven ground cover or woven landscape fabric. it's about 100 bucks for a 4ft X 300ft roll but will last for years and years unlike the 15 year crap that claims it will hold up for 15 years this stuff really does. I use it under my potted plants and around most of my tress unless I'm planting other things under the tree. For my Dl seedlings I just hand pull the weedsand use some pine needles to suppress a few weeds but it's mainly there to stop the ground from drying out too fast
