On that eBay deal for the Tolumnias, I sure wouldn't go for it at this time of year. Very risky shipping anything in hot weather, let alone a whole box of little plants!

I've never seen much in the way of deals for orchids on eBay, to tell the truth. Mostly they show a beautiful picture of a big blooming plant and then when you dig deeper you discover that what you get is a start in a 2 1/2 inch pot that won't bloom for at least 2 years, *and probably die on me before that). Life's too short to grow tiny starts.

Big lusty bare-root divisions are a different story, and do very well for me here. Here's my new Schomburgkia division with a great big new growth on it:
