My tallest lily is King Kong at 9 ft, it also got to the eave's of one of my customer's houses, but that can depend on growing conditions. It likes being up against a house which also gives one someplace to tie it to because it will fall over. It is normal for our orientals to read 5-6 feet, that is because of the bulb size, that depends also on growing conditions. Most large bulbs sold (about 2 inches) will be 4 feet or less the first year (depending on growing conditions, spring planted bulbs tend to be shorter) and get taller as the bulb gets bigger. In sandy soil they get huge, in 100% clay like our old place they only got 2.5 inches in diameter, only 4-5 feet tall, but the microclimate was much better and we had beautiful flowers and no moles subdividing and selling off tunnels to mice...
