Because I'm thrifty (notice I didn't say 'cheap'), I save all of my old toothbrushes. I put a big black X on them with a Sharpie, and find that they are super cleaning tools - especially for hummingbird feeders. I also make sure never store them close to the bathroom sink where I might accidentally grab one to brush my teeth that has been re-purposed to scrub the dog dish.
