I agree about E. oxypetalum. But the scent is only detectable late at night as the bloom open completely up. I never saw a bloom on mine until one night a scent literally came through my backdoor. It was a strong, lovely scent. It prompted me to go outside to see where the scent was coming from. The minute I walked out the door (onto my porch), this huge white bloom was staring at me! I was stunned! Gorgeous bloom and an amazing temporary scent. Scent lasts only a few hours, but it's a scent that you wished the perfume factories could bottle up and sell. I'd buy it!

I have never noted a scent on Strictum. Will have to check it out next time it blooms. My E. oxypetalum has buds forming on it now, so hopefully will see some blooms in about a week or so. As beautiful as some of the blooms are on other cultivars, E. oxypetalum is still my favorite epi. They are very prolific too! I would guess they are one of the easiest to grow?
