as far as hummers I had more early blooming hummer plants then any other year , and my only sighted hummer still disappeared as usual.
I won't start worrying unless they don't show up steady for the next 3 months , july , august and september are always the main months for us.

Lori , I have both my feeders high up , one on a suction cup window hanger and the other on a permanent window hanger.
both easy to get to and clean / refill but far from any squirrels reach. It was done mostly to give hummer's space of their own away from other bigger birds and feeders.
not to mention easier to see
