It is normal from the standpoint that you can expect to see this occasionally with some Oriental cultivars---especially newly planted ones, and especially Mona Lisa. Next year it should be more consistent if this is less than 1 year down. Those little petals in the center are referred to as 'petaloids'. Check out all the pictures in the data base and you'll see all the variations. I just read that next to Stargazer, Mona Lisa has been the most widely grown lily cultivar in the world. Thumbs up
