Yesterday my wife and her brother and his wife all went to this very nice daylily farm in southern IN. In the rain no less. So there we are in our disposable rain ponchos trying to be quick but not miss anything because we had a lot to do that day.
Its on about 1.5 acres and most is planted in daylily. Many different cultivars and most of them had multiple clumps growing. I saw Ruby Storm and had to have it. I will post pic later. I also bought Avis My Love and the wife chose Priscilla's Rainbow.
I asked him if he sold them in 2 fan starts and he said he was bad at math so sometimes he has given 10 fans for the the price of 2. So i ended up with 4 fans of Ruby, enough fans of Avis to split it before it was planted and i think maybe 4-5 fans for the wife.
Even though its about 2 hours south of us if you take enough mula its it well worth the trip because of how much you get.
In closing, the selection is quite large, i'd so well over 1000 cultivars and the starts are more like small to medium size clumps. So if you think you have a spot for one plant you might have to find 2 spots for the big start he gives you.
SO MANY DAYLILYS, SO LITTLE LAND
