I don't know of any faster-growing variety of adeniums. How fast your adenium grows depends not only genetics, but also on your preferred cultural practices (i.e., potting media, watering, fertilizing, micro-climate, and so forth).

Do I still leave them in pots with 3" from caudex to pot edge and shallow depth? Or to obtain bigger roots a year or more from now they need to be in bigger pots? If so what size. Do I then eventually raise them and try to bonsai at that point? I will be working on these from above to get a lower canopy.

"Listen" to your trees.
When they look like they need up-potting to a larger container then do so. How can you tell? When the caudex base has grown larger and the roots are starting to show at the bottom of the pot then it's time to up-pot. And when you up-pot use a pot that is 2 sizes larger than the one it was in. For example, if it was in a 4" pot, then up-pot to a 6" of the same kind of pot.

Again listening to your trees, the next up-potting should be into an 8" bowl or other design but no deeper than the last pot. This stage then is where you would lift the caudex by brushing off 1/2 to 1 inch of the soil at the base of the caudex. It is very important that the root ball itself is left intact...do not wash off the old soil, just add new at the bottom and sides.

Up-potting should be done only during a warm and active growing period. Likewise for pruning and shaping. If you would like uninterrupted growth and can feasibly do so with heating and lighting indoors during your winters, then go for it. A. obesum do not have an obligate dormancy period.

Please note that this recommendation is for A. obesum seedlings. Arabicum seedlings are a different matter and I'll make my way over to the thread where you posted questions about them.
