My daughter's name is actually Daria Lily. We had thought of her first name and had thought of naming her middle name after one of my sisters, but having four of them, I decided against it. My oldest daughter had named this (girl or boy, mind you) baby Lily long before we had picked out any names. Madeline just *knew* it was a girl and that Lily was to be the name, none of the rest of us had any idea which it would be. Madeline loved lilies and would have pollen on her nose after visiting any greenhouse that she saw them in. I suppose she learned this habit from me.

So after Daria was born, we told Madeline her name and decided that she could pick the middle name (really, it flowed nicely and how could mom turn down Lily?). There are a lot of girls with the name Lily, but not so much Daria, so it is really the best of both worlds. And instead of using her middle name with her first name when we are upset about something, DARIA LILY!, we have chosen to use it when we are proud of her, which is often. Smiling

Rose is beautiful as is Lilac for names. I think every feral kitten we rescued had some sort of garden flower name. We had a Lilac, Lily, Rose, Petunia, gosh...those are just to name a few.
