In case you were wondering...,
I didn't put the Lillies there. The oriental lily trees are growing inside the Spruce on their own.
You can imagine how stumped I was the first time I looked across the yard and saw giant yellow blossoms on my Baby Colorado Spruce tree. I wondered if someone was playing a joke on me.
Apparently I planted a young spruce tree right on top of a Lilly patch without realizing it.
