A) dig up more bed space....grass is a wasteful commodity, and highly overrated ! In the event there is no more *room* for bed space:
1) driveways do not HAVE to be "2 lane"
2) pots are cheap
2)there is always property for sale
B) "gift" your friends and family with iris plants.......fill a bag, deliver it, and give them 'encouragement" while they plant them ! If, after a while, you realize your friends and family start avoiding you.......expand your circle of friends !
C) "donations" of plants to the gardens of churches, retirement homes, and public parks is another way to avoid "pitching"....some of these places will gladly accept the plants, and have their staff handle the planting, and up-keep. Others may need YOU to do the planting, but , if time constraints don't allow you to do that......go at NIGHT, when no one is around, plant the iris, and leave ! This is similar to the "waif left on the doorstep" thing....by the time they notice the iris, it will be well rooted in....and they will soon accept it ! This will also work with neighbors, family, and friends.....after they start avoiding you ....see item ("B").

I tip my hat to you.

Arlyn, I am feeling queasy at the thought of a tractor bucket full of *excess* irises
