Sounds more LA to me. Most fragrant Asiatics are L. lankongense hybrids and usually not of the upfacing form for cut flowers.

Fragrance in the LAs come from the L. longiflorum influence. That is to say, Easter Lily. Remember the days when you could walk into a grocery store around Easter time and smell those cut Easter Lilies? Now it seems they have no fragrance, it has been hybridized out, like a lot of the newer roses.

I have had a hard time growing the lankongense hybrids, though I do have an Ed McRae seedling that is fragrant. I haven't grown many of the LAs. I do have Samur which is fragrant but is pink and white.

I don't suppose you got a photo of them? I think there are a number of LAs fitting your description, I just don't know which ones are fragrant.
