Mayo, even if it wasn't too hot for you it would be a good idea to wait a few days because in hot weather the plants need to take up more water. Dug ones will lose much of their root system no matter how careful you are unless they are small so can't support the same amount of leaf. You probably already know this, but they will recover more quickly if you shorten the leaves because then they don't need as many roots. If any have scapes they will likely still flower if you cut back the leaves to reduce the stress of moving. If the weather is cool, cloudy and damp you may need to cut back less than if the hot sunny weather comes back.
