Utah has a great many different climates , Alpine mountain top to low desert and salt flats ,
Your pictures look lower foothill Cascades , or is that Sierra ,, ?

With me Nature almost always says fall (when seeds fall naturally), but that depends on ones point of view , Many opinions
In the Butterfly garden if a plant is not chewed up I feel like a failure
