Oh My! Absolutely not! I am most active in the North American Rock Garden Society (NARGS), which is the American counterpart of the British Alpine Garden Society (AGS). I write several articles a year for our Minnesota Chapter newsletter, donate 200-300 plants to the two yearly plant sales, I am the plant sales organizer, past vice chair and chapter chair, and I am a moderator for the National organization's forum web site (
http://nargs.org/smf/index.php ). In our lily society I am far less active. We only have two meetings a year plus a show and bulb sales, but I work most weekends and which make priorities a challenge. I also participate in several other forum sites (not just cubits).
The functions I mention are things like when we are speakers at other garden clubs, participate in society fairs, or do classes on making styrofoam troughs. (A society fair is when an organization [like an arboretum or a nursery] hosts a public "get together" of different plant societies or clubs where we each can set up a booth or use a table to display about our individual societies. Its great to talk with people of the similar likes, learn, and recruit new members.)
It's raining heavily now, so I only took a pick of this empty trough in the garage. Not a best creation (and not mine), you can't even see that there are gouges taken out of the sides.
