There are a number of things that can cause wet streaks -- rot is one of them, scorch is another I do believe. Borers don't leave *wet* streaks, I don't think -- I had an infestation once and it seems to me that the leaves turn yellow. Not streaky.

Did you lose the rhizomes that had wet streaks?
