Yikes, Alice, your little gageana really does look unhappy. May I suggest, if it were mine I'd be removing it from that pot for a look-see, and putting it in some fresh soil. I also give mine a cup of alfalfa pellets along with some new potting soil on top each spring, which it seems to really love.
