Well, my grump seems kind of minor now. That's good, it's always good to get outside ourselves and see how mundane some of our complaints really are.
I'm grumpy because the ants have returned to the guest bedroom ceiling. I really, really hate these little red ants because they are hard to kill and they bite and it itches worse than a mosquito bite. That room has an 18' ceiling and the ants are in the lights and fan in the center of the room so my A frame ladders will not reach. I got the scaffolding delivered and set up today, we have to get scaffolding to even change the light bulbs. The exterminator is here now and hopefully he will remove all the lights and put the whatever poison up in there in sufficient quantities that it kills the whole nest. It turns out the guy is afraid of heights, he didn't say that but it is pretty obvious. So, my guy is there helping and he brought another guy as well to climb the scaffolding. It's a huge PITA for some ants. The way we find out they are up there is that they start pushing the dead ants out and they land on the bed and the floor underneath. Weird and creepy, all ants are creepy to me but this type that live in the electrical pipes are really creepy. That bedroom is an addon when we remodeled so it is made of concrete block not stone. Still, there are wiring channels throughout and that is where they set up their nests. Just to add to their creepiness, they also eat the insulation off the electrical wires. Have I mentioned how much I hate ants? I can't even be in that room knowing they are up there alive, I have to come back downstairs.
