RpR said:I put a large paver stone sidewalk patio around two sides of the house approx. ten or so years ago.

I was cleaning it so I could put glossy paver solution on it as I do every year. (Never, never use the water based stuff, it does not look as good and unlike the chemical based stuff does not kill prevent weeds)

I stepped on one part closer to the house and my foot went down a fractions of an inch, I stepped on it again and one brick went down over an inch and others around it sagged.

As I have been walking in that area, with or without pavers, for thirty years I dread what I may have to do to fix it.
Out by a shed I put there fifteen years ago a small paver pad in front of the door is also caving but I know there used to be a tree there as it did that, to a lessor degree, five years ago.

Roots? Old roots rotted? Oh boy, that's going to be fun to re-do. Yikes!
I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others. ~~ Sharon Brown
