Love all those reds, Hetty and Cheryl, you're doing great with your little plumeria nursery there!

So, I probably ask you all for advice on this one every year. It's a variegated (obviously) one that is supposed to bloom yellow but I've had it for 4 years now, and it never blooms and basically has not grown more than a few inches in all that time. It makes one rosette of leaves each year. I potted it up this year and it has a larger bunch of leaves than it had last year, but that is the extent of its progress. One problem I have with it is that the variegated leaves burn if I give it too much sun, but I think it needs more sun to bloom.

If I plant it in the ground, it will have to compete with oak tree roots in all the best spots, morning sun only etc. So it is currently in a 3gal. pot in semi-shade of my bamboo clump. Maybe I can plant it where it will get late fall to early spring (weak) sun only? But it does lose its leaves through the winter, too. I'm stumped. Any words of wisdom for this silly little plant?
